Financial aid questions??

I'm getting ready to go back to school in January 2009. I still need to submit the financial aid form. I'm a little confused on the form itself. How do I fill out the 2007 income info if I don't remember anything exact? I remember AROUND what I made, but I don't remember specifically. Also, I am only 20..so I know I need to include my parents. My parents are seperated...but not legally divorced..or anything. My mom lives out of state.. how do I include her info on there if I don't even have any of that info? I don't talk to her...

Well, you're going to HAVE to know exact income amounts. If you didn't file an income tax return, then you're going to need to find (or get) copies of your W2s from your employer(s). You can't get your financial aid processed without correct income amounts.

As far as your parents go, you would use the parent who provides you the most support...which I am guessing would be your dad since your mom lives out of state and you two don't talk. Again, you're going to have to have a copy of his tax return. Since you're 20, you'll have to have yours AND your dad's income info in order to get your FAFSA processed correctly.

You still have enough time to get yours processed. But get that income information as soon as you can or you really can't do much of anything.

You will need exact numbers from your taxes to fill out the FAFSA, and 50% of students are randomly selected by the government, which means that the Financial Aid Office will require a copy of you taxes to check your answers against, so there is no way around not having your taxes. There should be a way for you to print them out if you did them online, or I would recommend calling the tax office you had them prepared at. They will be required for you to fill out your FAFSA.

You will need documentation stating that your parents are separated, and you will use the income for the parent that you lived with the most during 2007.

Hope this helps!

you lie say parents are devorced

then get ur dads info

and go to where you filled out ur taxes and ask for a copy of yours
