Studying abroad ?

I'm interested in studying abroad in South Korea when it comes time for college, so I was hoping someone could give me some information on it. Would it be hard to survive by myself if I don't have financial aid from a home university? I'd also like to know about Korean language classes there as well since there's NO classes in my area. Any information is appreciated, I'd like to know as much as possible before bringing the idea up to my parents.

Honestly, I would wait until you graduate to come to South Korea. There are about a billion opportunities to teach English in schools over here, and pretty much all you need is a Bachelor's degree (and to be a native English speaker). Round-trip airfare, apartment rent, and a monthly stipend are pretty standard for foreign English teachers here. Teaching situations will vary, but if you have an open mind and really want to experience the country, it would be a great way to do so. The language is tough, but I'm sure you could find classes or someone willing to teach you wherever you end up.
