I would love to open up a hourse ranch for autistic children- Do i need anything special to do this?

I am a paramedic major, graduating in another year. I am also an EMT and certified in First Aid. I wasn't sure if you need to be in social work to operate something like this legally.... and how do I go about finding the information to do this, where do I find it. Any information will help. Thank you!

It is wonderful that you want to do this have you worked with the autistic?
It takes a very dedicated person with alot of patience and understanding and training. You have to check the county ordinances in your area to see if it is permitted to begin with and all the rules and regulations.
Try checking into this and see if you can visit or volenteer to see if it is something you would enjoy. Good Luck

I'd look into being able to bill schools, insurance and Medicaid for equine therapy. I'm not sure what you have to be licensed into do this but you better be an expert in running a non-profit business and managing your legal affairs. Putting children around horses is always a costly venture for various sizes of equipment and then the astronomical amount for insurance.

depends on what you want to do with teh horses---if you want to just make them available for teh chidlren to use--than you just need to be competant with horses--

but if you want to provide some sort of therapy--you may need to hire occupational, physical, speech, therapists.

look up hippotherapy or equine therapy--there should be info on the web
