i dont understand what they mean by a given situation?
how can i put catalyst into a given situation i dont get it.......

factors that affect rates of reaction:
TEMPERATURE
CONCENTRATION
SURFACE AREA
PRESENCE OF CATALYSTS

temperature:
an increase in temp. makes the molecules collide more often and more effectively.

concentration:
increasing the concentration of the reactants in a container increases the number of collisions between the molecules.

surface area:
reactions occur more quickly as the number of collisions between molecules increases. increasing the surface area increases the number of collisions between molecules and therefore the rate of reaction.

catalysts:
provides an easier way for chemical reaction to occur by decreasing the amount of collision energy that molecules need to break bonds and form new molecules.

It just wants an example of each. For example, the speed a certain amount of salt dissolves in cold water as opposed to hot water.
