Past tax information?

I am trying to file for student financial aid and I can't find last years tax info. I filed with HR Block but I don't see anything on their website about looking up past info. Anybody know of a website or another way to get this information?

If you filed with H&R, then they should be able to provide copies. If they don't file a complaint with the BBB, and call the IRS. The IRS can send you an actual copy (for a fee) or a transcript (at no cost). Here is the link: http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc156.html

By the way, I suggest using Liberty Tax Services rather than H&R. Liberty is committed to customer service, are are usually open year round (at least one day during the off season).

the financial aid office wants proof of filing and proof of income, a copy of your tax return is not really proof because it is not proof of filing.
Contact IRS at 1-800-829-0922; 1-800-829-8374 or 1-800-829-1040 or visit your local IRS office in your city for a Transcript of Account. The transcript provided line by line information you filed on your tax return.

You can get transcripts of the return from IRS for free. Transcripts will serve your purpose. Or contact your tax preparer.

Go to the Block office where you filed and ask for a copy of last year's return. If it isn't open, go to the district office for your area. It's open year round.

Call IRS and request a line by line transcript. Your student financial aid office should accept that instead of a copy of your return.
