Section 8 fraud!! Advice needed!?

Would you report someone if you KNEW they were comitting section 8 fraud. I mean, I lived with this person for almost 2 yrs, not knowing that she was on section 8. I paid $210.00 a month in "rent" and I was also imployed. She works from time to time and does not report it. She also did not report financial aid that she received from school, in which she has jumped around from school to school for the past 10 years, just long enough to receive her loan check. Also, she lets people claim her 2 kids on their tax returns so they can give her a cut from the extra money that they get. Last year, she let her sister claim her on her tax return. She also applies for public assistance to pay her bills and she lies on her applications...She receives food stamps, but she sells them for cash. She lies on her recertification each year claiming that her sister and her mother gives her money and she gets the letters notarized. I have her name and I know her ssn. If I call and report her will they take her benifits away from her with the info that I have provided... Also, who do I contact?? This isn't right, and I would like to see some action taken against her. I do not have ways of proving that I paid rent, as I always paid her in cash. I don't even want to be reimbursed. I just want her to be stopped. Also, if I report her will the authorities keep me posted as to what happens to her?

1. Two people can't claim the same SSN as a dependent. The IRS keeps track of this stuff; just ask any divorced parents. :)

2. There is no such thing as food stamps. EBT benefits come on a card. If you sell the card, you won't have access to further benefits.

However, if she receives Section 8, and you lived there, whether or not you paid rent, it's a violation. Contact the local Housing Authority. Look in the blue pages of the phone book under county.

Call the section 8 office and ask them how to report her. Do you have any documentation that proves that you lived at her address (bills, drivers license, i.d.'s, etc.). Also call afdc and ask them how to report her. I doubt that you will be kept posted by the authorities but it is all public record. Report her.

She is not truthful and using everybody she comes in contact with so phone who ever she gets money from and will ask her more question and may and should have to pay this back!
