Is it true that, the only info you need is an IP Address and Port Number right...?

And a port number could be as high as 65000, right...?

because there are 65000 known ports per ip, right...?

Whats some other info that might aid me, in my networking learning?

I understand that you need to convert the data into a string and then into byte format, ie. 1011 0010, maybe it has to do with Hexadecimal as well..., Yes...?

There are 65535 ports available on a host, it has nothing to do with an IP address. Think of the IP address as the "telephone number for your computer". The IANA is the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority, an organisation that oversees IP address, Top-level domain and Internet protocol code point allocations (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IANA).

Hexadecimal is a numbering system that uses base 16, these are normal decimal numbers 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 and an additional 6 - A = decimal 10, B = 11, C = 12, D = 13, E = 14, F = 15. 1011 0010 is the binary representation of B2.

You should start with a couple of High School level computer courses through adult education. If you are going into a computer related college course, you need a lot more information that you have at the present. time.

Ummm, what's the question? Networks to a LOOOOTTTTTT of things for a LOOOOTTTTTT of applications. College is supposed to teach you not ask you to know it beforehand so nothing you've mentioned should be required for entry into college.
