Studying Abroad. Im in the US, but want to study in Australia Melbourne?

Hi I have no college exprience, Im 19, I realllllly want to study in Australia Melbourne, I want to probably get a degree in something in the U.S before I try to even attempt to leave. I want to know if Financial Aid wil cover for me to study in another country, because I come from a low income background. Live with my mom and older brother who are both i guess disabled, and I have no income of my own coming in, so does anyone know programs I can get into to help pay to study in melbourne australia, and information about the student visa stuff and passports etc, stuff you'd need. What degree should I even get into that will allow me to study abroad in melbourne??

There are a few ways to study abroad.

One: If you want to get your degree over seas then you need to look at what schools are in Melbourne, what degrees they offer, what you need to do to get into them, and how much it will cost.

The University of Melbourne is very highly ranked: http://www.unimelb.edu.au/

You would want to look for information as an international student:

The University of Melbourne offers a lot of different degree programs (courses of study) http://www.futurestudents.unimelb.edu.au...

But, it can be VERY expensive to get your degree over seas. You should expect to take out loans where ever you go, but if you go overseas you can expect to take out a lot of money.

Another option is to start and finish your degree program in the united states at a public university, but spend a year or two in Melbourne through a university study abroad program.

Many universities in the US have study abroad programs. You can study what ever you like while in the US and then look for programs that fit your needs in countries all over the world including Melbourne. The tuition and fees you pay will be to the university in the US, and not Melbourne so in some ways it will be cheaper. Plus, the grants, loans and scholarships you get in the US can be applied to your study abroad. But, you have to come back and finish your Degree in the US.

But, I'll be honest, you should really think about what you want to study as your most important choice. If you want to study anything, you just want to do it in Melbourne then you should look at what Melbourne offers in courses. Or, maybe you have an interest in something specifically Australian and maybe your studies should be geared that way.

If you get your degree in the US first, then you will be getting your post graduate or graduate degree in Melbourne. That will be very expensive and you need to think very carefully about what you want to study.

But there is not a lot of financial aide out there for someone who just wants to go overseas just because. If you want to go and live in Melbourne for a while then save up some money, get a work visa, find a cheap place to live and just live and work there for a while. It might be cheaper then going to school.

im only 14 . i dont know much about all the degrees and stuff .but i know melbourne and sydney is a great place to get started in careers. the uniz and the tafes' work . many aunts and uncles that became successfull

Melbourne......omg -_- my boyfriend is on vacation there, go....NOW! :] I'll pay for your college if you bring him back.
