College Financial Aid Question?

Hey i'm just gonna be honest, i'm 20 and blew my first college attempt because I honestly just don't think i was ready at the time. But now I am dying to be there. But I have a problem. My mom says I am not allowed to give her information in any way on my fafsa. And I'm just wondering why I have to even though i live on my own. So can you please just give me any info as far as what i should do? Please no rude comments and i don't know if this matters but i am on SSI as well.

Find out exactly WHY your mom doesn't want to give you her information. Often I find that parents somehow think this Information is going to be given to another agency and somehow effect other benefits or tax info and this is simply not the case. The Department of Education could care less if your moms boyfriend lives with her, if she owes child support to someone, or she is wanted for something, etc etc etc....
Let her know that by providing this information she is not obligated to help you pay for college in any way, on the contrary, by providing it she is allowing you to pay for your education on your own without her help.

PS: Check with the school before you get your hopes up about receiving fin aid. If you "blew it" your first time around your financial aid eligibility may be effected.

Some friends of mine in college told me that they have valuable information regarding scholarship from these places.
