High school senior study abroad scholarships/funds? |
I would like to travel in the summer of 2009, preferably to a European/Latin American country, yet unfortunately such travel costs would be too much for me to cover... hence I'm searching for scholarships and possible study abroad financial aid for high school students (senior). I am aware of some of the scholarships for college kids (although mention them too, I'm sure the info will prove to be valuable in the future) and was wondering if collecting funds for a HS student would be possible as well. Unfortunately I cannot travel through my school as it doesn't offer such travel opportunities but there must be programs out there for this - and affordable ones, per chance? Please help me out, looking for good suggestions and valuable info based on experience. Thanks in advance I have been looking for exactly the same thing! I would love to travel this summer, but cannot afford it, either. I know a few websites that might help you, one is www.yfu-usa.org, which has a bunch of scholarships that you might qualify for. It also has programs in a bunch of different countries. Another website is www.usexperiment.org, thier programs look great and they have financial aid, but the downside is that you have to pay a 400 dollar application fee before you find out about your aid award, and you have to apply fairly early in order to receive a good amount. |
