FAFSA ....Financial Aid?

My daughter is in the process of being recruited to play college basketball, the coach wants me to fill out a Fasa now to put together a financial aid packet, but I have not done my 2008 taxes yet.....can I fill out the fafsa for 2008-2009 and add my 2007 tax info and then in January fill out the 20089-2010 Fasa with my 2008 taxes???? I need help?

If your daughter is going to start college in the Spring 09 in a few weeks, she can do her fafsa now using your and her 2007 income on the http://fafsa.ed.gov website.

If she is not going to start college until the fall of 09 then you will have to wait until after Jan 1, 2009 to apply. The application isn't available online yet.... and even then, like you said you won't have your taxes done until prob Feb at the earliest.

Yes use your 2007 taxes... It is really simple.. just make sure you have the school code... And after you file it, wait a few day and check to see if your/she is available for grants.. It will be in the school computer, so you can ask the financial aid office, and they will tell you how much if any she is eligible for... Good luck.. Hope she gets a Grant.. I sure wish i could

If you fill out a 2008 FAFSA now and submit it (in order to get your EFC score) you're going to have to then call in and tell them to scrap it. It will be a lot of work and when all you need is an idea, just use the site I gave you.

You can fill out the FAFSA and use an estimated amount for the 2008 taxes. Later on, you can go back and modify it. I imagine you have some idea of what you made this year compared to last year. dont your paychecks have the year to date amounts on them?

well u should use 2007 tax information.. in fafsa 2008-09
and in fafsa 2009-10 u will use 2008 tax information.
