What should I do about my government aid for school?

I'm starting culinary school in January and am stuck with two options. Here's the pro's and cons to each. Tell me what you think.

Little more background info,

Tuition is broken into two parts, academic year 1 and year 2. After government aid and one government loan in my name(low interest, no pay till graduation) cost is down to $10,629 for the first academic year. Year two with out any aid will cost $17,000. I will be getting more government aid for that. Not sure of the amount yet.

I have roughly $10,000 in a college fund that I can use whenever I want.

Should I take out a loan with my mom for $10,629 now and wait to use my college fund for the second year.
Or use my college fund now and get a loan later when I go into year two?

....Pros of loan for year 1....
I know I am approved now for the loan. Who Knows if i will be next year.

My mom can cosign now to lower interest rates.
Again will that work next year
....Cons of loan for year 1....
I will have to pay the loan off my mothers credit becasue she is my cosigner
meaning that next year I may be able to get a lower rate on my own next year.

....Pros of using college fund for year one....
No $10,629 loan
....Cons of using college fund for year 1....
I may not have a smaller loan required for the second year.

Use the college fund now. You never know what is going to happen next year. This way if something does, you will have no loan.
