Its been -20 F here where I live. Some aircraft with recip engines dilute engine oil with gasoline prior to shut down to aid in the next cold weather start. Can this be utilized on a car engine? No way. You will destroy the bearings in no time at all. Change your oil to a lower viscosity (5W-30,20) or plug in a plug in a block heater 2-3 hours before starting it. not a good idea. a air craft engine is not quite the same as a car. f you want thinner oil but it. you can get even 0 20 now but i would recommend that you stick with what the book calls for. |
