2012 apocalypse questions?

I don't mean to be a doomsayer and I know these stupid things come up every year but i must say it is pretty scary besides the whole Mayan ending thing there are hypothesis that the poles will shift and planets will be aligned. Also the alleged bible code predicts an apocalypse in 2012 due to a meteor. lastly this one is highly controversial and by no means am i stating obama is the Anti Christ but the book of revelations says there will be 4 excellent years before the the 4 years of trials and tribulation and that the nations would be united and that war, famine disease and destruction with the many natural disasters , wars in the holy land Aids and cancer Ebola and others running rampant the genocide in Africa and after Obamas election almost every country was friends with us I didn't believe in Y2K but there are so many terrible coincidences also Nostradumus predicted our demise in 2012 and the worst part is my birthday is december 21 the day the mayans say the world will end could someone either calm my thoughts or give further information

For starters, Nostradamus does not mention 2012 as a date in any of his quatrains. He actually mentioned July 1997 as the beginning of the end. His writing is often twisted by doomsday authors looking to make it fit their agenda.

And this Bible code ? Nonsense. With codes, you can make anything you want read as anything you like, if you're the one making the rules as to how the code should be deciphered. This whole 2012 thing is a load of scare-mongering bullsh*t created by authors of garbage books, conspiracy theorists and psuedo-intellects.

Doomsday prophecies have been around for as long as humans have had language. There have been at least twenty or so dates declared as definite 'End of the world' predictions in the last thousand years, all of which passed by without any major mishap. In the year 999, church leaders across Europe actually told people not to bother harvesting their crops as the world would surely end on New Years Eve. Surprise! Nothing happened, however, a famine did follow, causing great distress for the people. Nobody could have predicted that surely !

The really fascinating thing is that 1000 years later, in our modern enlightened age, the same primal fear was instilled in us again, this time in the shape of the dreaded 'Millenium Bug', when it was predicted that on the stroke of midnight at the new millenium, computers around the world would fail, economies would collapse, and aircraft would literally fall out of the sky as the entire world descended into chaos. Well, as we all know, what a giant load of nonsense that turned out to be.

Anyone who's lived more than 30 or 40 years is quite aware that every 10 years or so, someone comes up with a brand new doomsday prediction. We had quite a few in the run up to the year 2000, and this 2012 thing just happens to be the latest, thanks to the Mayans. I ask you, If the Mayans were so damn clever at predicting the future, how come they didn't foresee the coming of the Spanish in 1517 and the subsequent eradication of their great civilization ?

No doubt many books on the 2012 subject will be selling over the next few years, making a lot of money for their authors, who will quite happily laugh all the way to the bank regardless of whether the prophecy turns out to be true or not. I can pretty much guarantee you one thing however, We'll all be sitting on our backsides on January 1st, 2013, wondering when the next Doomsday will be.

I'm fairly certain it's not the demise, but rather the end of the age. This whole 2012 thing comes from the Mayan calender ending in 2012. It didn't mean the world would be over, but the calendar would start over or start a new age. The age when the earth wobbles. it happens every 2000 some odd years. It's no big deal.

This is the dawning of the age of aquarius and stuff. We're gonna be under water in 2012! Ice caps!

The problem with prophecies is that they are usually so vague that they can apply to almost any event that rolls around. I wouldn't worry about it so much. Short of nuclear war, the only thing that is gonna destroy this planet is five billion years down the road, when the sun becomes a giant red star. But by then, I highly doubt humans will still be inhabiting Earth. :)

dont worry. Nostradamus is all about interpretation and has been proven to prove many things based on how you interpret it. and about the Mayans, their calendar ends in 2012 because of their 500 year cycle. they stopped on the year 2012 because that's when their cycle ended and they started dying off before their new cycle got started but their is plenty of archeological proof with mayan time calendars that have the next cycle of years.so dont worry.

This stuff is bogus. If you believe the Bible, Jesus said no man knows the day or the hour of His return but the Father only. Not even the angels know. So stop worrying about prophets of doom and Mayan calendars. If the Mayans were all that intelligent, their civilization would still exist. You also have the prophecy in Revelation all wrong.

So the world is going to be destroyed in 2012, good riddance!
I, for one, will not be sad. Our world has turned from a paradise to a hellish tyrannical place where right is wrong and left is right. Murders, rapes, pillages, states-sponsored terrorism, injustices of all kind.....
Let it be destroyed, it's about time I say!

and Nostradumus did not say the year 2012, his according to people that follow his work his predictions go past 2012. every time the make a new show about him his dates change.
and i never believed in that bible code, nor do i care what the say about the end.

all that matters is are you saved yet. if the answer is yes then you have nothing to worry about, if its no well then you better work on it because you dont know how much time you have. if you get hit by a car tomorrow and were not saved you would have a problem

yes i believe in the end time and i have no idea when it will be. i just live my life day by day until it comes. and live it the best way i can. i could live another 40 yrs or die tomorrow. i have no control over that nor do i have control of when it will all end. why should i panic for something i cant control.
if it happens in 2012 that will be great for me because this economy is kill my 401k

Like you said there will be 4 excellent years maybe for the US but what about other countries.So it would not apply to the world unless somewhere in the prophecy it says a miracle would happen and all the worlds probelms would be solved.Consider all the conflicts to be resolved.US's failing econemy the war in iraq africa's hunger and disease and several others.And if the world was going to end on 2012 i would be pissed if i didn't lose my virginity by then cus im only 13 and its 2008 12-1-08 now Only 3 years and 3 weeks to get laid.Besides if the world would end by 2012 whats the point of all the succeeding and bright students at my school.would all there straight A report cards go to waste.Would all of their knowledge not be applied to future jobs after college.If the world would ended on 2012 everyone would spend most of their time in leisure,spend their last years in happiness but thats not the case.
