My mom won't help me fill out my early estimate form for financial aid. what can i do?

for ED students, my college requires that each family send in a completed early estimate for financial aid form with the previous years tax return. My mother...will not do this for me. She wont help me. is there any way that i can send in this information on my own?

You need to talk to somebody in financial aid. I have always been told that if you are not over like 25, not married, or have no children, you have to use your parents information. I have only known 1 person not in any of those situations get by that and thats because he was taken away from his mother and given to his grandparents custody so they considered it differently. Talk to the financial aid person and tell them how your mother refuses to do this for you and see if they can put you in a different group (or at least talk to your mother about how its important she does it for your benefit).

Get her tax forms and W2s and take them to your schools fin aid office. THey will be able to help you. Also make your mom aware she needs to be available during that time so you can call her on your cell phone to answer questions the fin aid office may have you ask her.

Find her taxes from last year and make copies and send it in. If you know your dad see if he'll help. Talk to a financial aid advisor in person and see howthey can help. Which ever parent makes the least amount, get their taxes.
