I dont understand the point in a MAJOR and a MINOR? |
i dont get it..what does it mean?? im going to school for (AIT) administration info. tech.....if thats my major whats my minor? or what could be my minor? and will financial aid pay for both...i really just dont understand... Your major is what the focus of your college is about. There are general education courses that everyone takes to provide a common foundation of knowledge, which differ slightly if you get a BA or BS degree. In your major classes you have about 10-12 classes dedicated to that area of study, for example Information Technology. You can have a minor in another areas that could be complementary to that subject, for example Finance. Therefore if you want to get a job as an IT person for a finance firm you would have an edge. It all comes down to how many credits you need for your "major classes" and then a less number to get a minor. |
