What should i do for my Leopard Gecko?

I have a 9 1/2 year old male Leopard Gecko. Recently i have noticed a small red spot on his tongue. He hasn't been eating much lately due to this injury. I have been feeding him manually every other day, he wont eat otherwise. I went to Pet Smart and one of the reptile peeps there told me to use Repta-Aid until i can take him to the herpvet. Repta-Aid is a supplement specially formulated to provide energy and fluid support for malnourished and dehydrated reptiles. I was really wondering if this is a good product or should i keep feeding him his meal worms. I will be taking him to the vet in the next few days, but i recently moved from a diff area and i don't have a vet. Im looking into a good one. He has had many problems in the past, which i have taken care of and i will do everything in my power to make him better. Thanks to anyone who replys with some information.

It's a good product. We would recommend the same product where I worked. Make sure you are using the carnivore formula. You could try feeding waxworms. They are very soft and palatable, and they have a lot of calories. Just don't over feed.

I am not sure, and am just posting this as a suggestion for a good network, and not to advertise anything, but craigslist.org has a pets section that you can post in, you can post a question about what herpvets are good in your area, and you mostly get very good helpful and supportive answers. Not that you don't here, but it would help direct you to one in your respective area.

The redness on the tongue is normal coloration. All of mine have it. The slowdown in eating is probably due to the winter cold. Cooler air temps means lower appetite. You probably don't need to be feeding him ReptaAid if he's eating by himself. As long as he's not losing excessive weight (more than a gram or so per week), the slowdown in eating is due to the cool.

You said you just moved, so I'm guessing maying your home now is cooler than before. The slowdown is perfectly normal for the winter months. They start eating more when it gets warmer. Honestly, there's no reason to bring him to a vet as long as he's not losing weight. The red coloration on the end of the tongue is normal.
