Is it possible to obtain your adoption file?

I was wondering if it's possible to obtain your adoption file and if it is how would one go about doing this?

I was wondering because my friend would like to do this and she wants me to help her. It was an adoption that took place in Ontario, Canada about 20 years ago I think because she is 20 years old now and she was only a few months old when she was adopted. It definitely wasn't an open adoption because she said that things like that didn't exist back then. Would she have to contact the Children's Aid Society to find out more information about her record? If she was able to look at her record, what kind of information would she be able to see?

Starting June 9, 2009 anyone adopted in Ontario will be able to access their post-adoption birth information including identifying information provided a disclosure veto has not been filed by the natural parents. If a disclosure veto has been filed it means the natural parents are not willing to allow their information to be accessed by their relinquished child.
