How to tell your best friend you're leaving the school?

So I go to a private school and so does my brother. Our single mom has to pay for tuition and she has been able to since we were in kindergarten or so. Now with the bad economy our school has raised its price and we can't afford it anymore since it won't give us financial aid and my mom doesn't make enough. But all this is just background info. So here's the real story:
I have a best friend there. We aren't like cheesy best friends that only talk about boys and stuff. We are sincerely best friends and I have some other great friends at my school that I will have to leave. So anyways, I'm going to a public school next year, we don't know what one yet, but I need to tell my friend. I'm just nervous to and I don't know how or where I should do it. Any suggestions and help is appreciated. I am 13 and she is 14 if that helps. How can I tell her? What can we do to still be best friends even though I won't see her everyday? Please help!

this situation happened to me but except the financial reason.

anywho :) i was around grade 3 when this happened. my best friend had to transfer to another school because it was nearer to her home. im a junior now and she's a senior and surprisingly we are still best friends :) we contact each other online hehe cause that's the only way.

you should have a talk with your best friend and explain to her everything. start if off with the financial reason then just go and tell her that you are leaving. even though you would be transferring schools you should have time (like during the weekends) to go to the movies or something like that, its not like you're moving to another state :)

tell her when your at school doing lunch and you'll will still be able to talk over the phone and make plan to go to the park are meet up.
