Does my 4 year old nephew have ADHD? (more info below)?

He is constantly running around, not listening to me or his mom, and jumping off the furniture. If you sit him down he will get right back up when you turn your back. When you tell him "no" to things especially video games, he will just throw the biggest fit known to man. He constantly wants sweet stuff. Juice, candy, cookies, kool-aid, you name it and he wants it. Last night in fact, my mother gave him a sandwich bag full of mints. He ate them all like they were the only food he had, then just walked him self up to my mother's purse, dump it out and ate the rest of the mints, plus her entire pack of gum. He waon't sit still for story time...folks he is just bouncing off the walls every single day.

They won't diagnose ADHD at that age but it may be something more severe. He should be evaluated by a doctor. But, that being said, he may be spoiled. My kids only get candy or cookies at VERY special occasions. 100% juice only, no sugar water. No video games. Read to him, limit his TV. He's overstimulated for sure. But because he's had all the junk it's going to be along road. His parents are going to have to start acting like parents. Stop giving in to make their lives easier. Be the authority figure, not his friend.

He needs to be sat in time out. When he gets uo you take him right back WITHOUT talking to him. It may take an hour to accomplish a $ min timeout, but he'll get the picture. Be stubborn.

He sounds like a typical preschooler who isn't being disciplined well. Kids will act like they're in charge unless they have parents who consistently reinforce that they're not.

Most little kids that age have a ton of energy. How much time does he have to just go outside and run around?
