I found out today that my dad is dying of AIDS. I have looked all over and can't get any real information.?

What I basically want to know is......
If his t-cell count is only at 173 and he has pneumonia.... how long do you think he has left.
He has had it since 1994 and never taken medication for it.
I don't know much about AIDS except that once you hit AIDS it is basically the last stage.
Can someone please help me.
I really want to understand it.

I am so sorry. Now is the time you need to say everything you want to say, try to spend as much time with him as you can.

As far as the facts this website may help
www.righthealth.com/hivaids
you may also want to look into hospice, even if you dad has chosen not to use them, they still have great support for you!

Unfortunately, there is no way that anyone can tell you how long your dad has left. However, if he is not taking medications, his chances of surviving longer are much lower than if he would be taking medications as directed by an HIV specialist.

I wish I could give you more exact info, but there really is no way to know for sure how long he will live.

I really don't know much about AIDS, but I just want to tell you to cherish your dad for as long as you can, and make sure that he knows that you love him deeply. I'm sorry

Go to this site called biogetica maybe they have something for you there.
