What do i need to know when purchasing solar panels?

im looking into the cost and benefit of having a solar panel system to aid my business. wondering if anyone out there can tell me basic information on how they work and how i would decide on what kind to buy, and where to buy them? any information or links to information would be much appreciated!! thank you very much!

You need to talk with people who are already knowledgable in the field, and in the business of designing systems for a specific set of location, conditions, applications, and goals. Government incentives make a big difference in evaluating choices. Those vary widely by country and even state within country.

If you want solar panels to supplement your purchased power, look at the structure (unpainted steel frames will rust out, etc.), the amount of power provided and the total cost. You don't really care about efficiency; the package provides a certain amount of power - if you need more cells to provide the same amount of power, but they're considerably cheaper, the total cost is lower (even though the cells are less efficient). Lower efficiency doesn't relate directly to cost.

There aren't too many "kinds" of solar cells, so you don't have any choice.

Look at the payback time, whoch depends on total price, cost of electricity where you are and number of hours of sufficient sunlight per year where you are. Solar power is usually a long term investment - you aren't going to even get your money back for many years unless you live in or near a desert.

Typically, you would look up professional installers in the phone book, and get free quotes from several of them. In the process, you will learn about the considerations of orientation, shading, and your business's energy usage and conservation.

For most people, doing the installation on their own does not make sense, unless they are the types that would re-roof their house on their own, or wire new branch circuits into their electrical panel on their own.

the basic things that I know you need are:

Things You鈥檒l Need:

* 16 volt solar panel
* Rechargeable 12 volt lead or acid battery
* Battery box
* DC meter
* Inverter
* Handheld drill

I performed the same steps given in that article and it worked out just perfect. my house runs on solar as well as wind energy and I don't have to pay any bill for that.
