I'm suspended from Financial Aid...Can I still receive money for school? |
This might be a dumb question...but I read the financial aid suspended info and it said "you will not receive further financial aid". does that mean I won't receive money in Spring 2010 semester, since fall 2009 semester is coming up and i already saw how much they are going to give me in the fall?? They probably started the process of seeing what you are eligible for in the fall before the suspension was calculated. Also, you can usually appeal suspension, so they are saying as of this minute you will have no financial aid for fall, but if you appeal successfully you'll get the amounts they've told you. if u didn't meet the requirements for financial aid (for ex. maintain "c" grade average or better / be enrolled in 15 units aka full time) then you get suspended. what you need to do is "make up" for it, meaning, the following semester you pretty much need to go at it w/o the help of financial aid and then the following semester after that you're good. only thing u still receive is fee waivers if you're a us citizen. well... that was my case (lbcc) When it comes to financial aid or scholarship questions, I point my friends to visit http://www.FinancialAidQuick.com and take a look around. Its excellent starting point with a few good sources of info. |
