Palin is rockin on, tells environuts to can it. Agree or not?

Sarah Palin has hit back at actress Ashley Judd for her criticisms of the effort to pare back the Alaskan wolf population for the protection of caribou. Scoffing at advice from 鈥渇ar east coast politicians,鈥?Palin reminded Judd and her Defense of Wildlife Action Fund that Alaskans relied on healthy caribou populations for food 鈥?especially in economically trying times. She also accused Judd of manufacturing outrage to stoke donations to her group:

Alaska governor Sarah Palin鈥檚 support for aerial wolf-hunting has sparked a heated cross-country war of words between the governor and an environmental ad campaign fronted by the actress Ashley Judd, with Palin calling the organization funding the ads an 鈥渆xtreme fringe group.鈥?br>
The squabble began Tuesday when the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund unveiled a campaign called 鈥淓ye on Palin,鈥?targeting the governor for what they call her 鈥渆xtreme anti-conservation policies.鈥?br>
The group is highlighting 鈥淧alin鈥檚 championing of the brutal and unnecessary aerial killing of wolves and other carnivores鈥?鈥?a controversial practice allowed by permit in Alaska since 2003, with the goal of protecting populations of moose and caribou.

Judd, who has in the past lent her voice to AIDS prevention and reproductive health campaigns, signed on with the group and is featured in a YouTube video. 鈥淚t is time to stop Sarah Palin, and stop this senseless savagery,鈥?she says in the clip.

Perhaps Judd might want to change the name of her group to the Defense of Selected Wildlife Action Fund. The aerial hunt intended on thinning the number of wolves in order to protect an endangered caribou population that had dropped to only 500. Since the ban on wolf hunting decades ago, the top-of-the-food-chain predator has made a stunning comeback, lately at the expense of its usual prey.

As usually big city liberals know nothing but run their mouths, go Sarah, go Sarah

Love Sarah Palin. Culling the wolf population is necessary not just for the health of the caribou but for the health of the wolf population. Don't care how the kill them. But I hope that people realize how difficult it is to shoot anything from an aircraft. While legal it is not widely used. At home we have the same problem with coyotes. We shoot them on sight year around and they still take a large part of deer herds and domestic animals.

Ashley Judd is clearly not the sharpest crayon in the box is she? Sarah Palin will chew her up, rightly so. Sarah rocks with intelligence and that scares the liberals- how dare a women be tenacious, Intelligent, and a Republican? Get over it neo-marxist Sarah Palin will be back!

As usual Sarah Paulin, uses common sense in her decision to allow wolf hunting from the air. How many hunters do you think would spend thousands of dollars, trudge up and down mountains, over millions of wilderness acres, through waist deep snow, for maybe a one shot at one wolf?

Those Hollyweird Liberals are showing just how ignorant they really are lately. I totally support Sarah Palin and I absolutely love that she pi$$es these fruit-cakes off!

I'll Keep My Guns, Freedom & Money...
You Can Keep the "Change!"

I pay Ashley Judd to get naked on film. That is all I want to see her do. Just shut up and take your clothes off. That is what you are paid to do.

Absolutely agree. Well presented.

Culling problem wolves is one thing
The method is something else
Respect for wildlife is an expectation from hunters

she is being attacked because she formed a PAC to explore runnning for office again and she scares the crap out of liberals

hear, hear! further, judd doesn't seem to know this goes on many places that have a burgeoning wolf or wild cat population. ashley is really only good for lookin at, unless she puts out.

AGREE

allright.

I Googled 鈥淎laskan Caribou鈥?and got a population estimate of 950,000, not 500. There are 32 individual herds, some of which overlap into Canada and its Yukon Territory. Licensed hunters, many from out of state, take about 22,000 caribou each year. By law, the meat from those caribou must be used for food. The hunters make a significant contribution to Alaska鈥檚 economy, particularly in rural areas.

I know Alaska鈥檚 wolf population has rebounded in recent years, and caribou is one of their prime food sources. I don鈥檛 know how important cattle and sheep are to Alaska, but wolves are as fond of beef and mutton as they are of caribou. They also take moose. Estimates of Alaska鈥檚 wolf population range from 7,000 to 11,000.

Some supporters of Palin鈥檚 predator control plan say wolves are competing with humans who hunt caribou for food. Her plan also includes bears. Bears are not active hunters of caribou and moose, but are aggressive scavengers. So why are bears also on Palin鈥檚 鈥渉it list?鈥?br>
I can find nothing to suggest that Alaska鈥檚 caribou population is endangered, either by human hunting or wolf predation. The fact that licensed hunters take 22,000 caribou each suggests the opposite. If the caribou population was endangered, hunting of these animals would not be permitted.

It has been established in many areas of the world that large ungulates need their predators to weed out the sick and weak in their herds. That certainly seems to be the case in Alaska. Traditionally, people who depend on certain animals for food, as many Alaskans do, believe that all predators of their chosen animal should be wiped out. That appears to be what is happening in Alaska.

In any case, Alaska doesn鈥檛 need a bunch of city slickers from New York to tell it how to manage its wildlife. I think Governor Palin is way off base in her support of wolf hunting, but wildlife scientists in Alaska should play a major role in determining how best to keep its caribou and wolf populations healthy and in balance.

Ashley Judd should mind her own business. When "celebrities" become instant experts on environmental issues, they damage their own causes

These people are always at it... In Michigan, they had a special hunt to thin out the goose population, similar to the ones that took down the jet in New York City... I would imagine if one of these people had been on the plane, they would be all for this type of hunt... But until they are able to see past the nose on their face, we will continue to have to listen to the constant dribble come out of their pie holes.

This is typical of liberalism...Judd is your typical dimwit liberal who feels good with her activism but never is called to task on the RESULTS of her liberalism..the unintended consequences of liberalism...it makes her "feel" good to rant against the wolf hunts...but is blind to the consequences...it makes libs "feel" good to be a radical enviroMENTAList...but is blind to the consequences...it makes them "feel" good to protect a womans right to "choose"...but are blind to the consequences...it makes them "feel" good to fight for gun control...but are blind to the consequences...I could go on all day...LIBS ARE VOID OF REALITY...ESPECIALLY THE HOLLYWOOD DOPES.

Judd is yet another example of a hollywood liberal that somehow feels her point is relevant. In reality, she is nothing more than a modern day court jester, here for our entertainment, and nothing more. I would suspect that the folks in Alaska, Sarah Palin, and the rest of us that hunt could care less what her opinion is.

Judd and the ilk like her cant understand how everyone doesn't need a "nanny government" its the typical socialist response and propaganda.

the government doesn't want independent people living off they land because they cant control them like sheeple. Wolves have been imported and turned loose and declared off limits in areas of Idaho, Montana , and other places to deplete the food sources. In order to have complete control they need to drive these people into cities where they can herd them like sheep.

Sarah Palin is a moron.
