Colgate Total & Act Mouthwash?

I use both on a daily basis though I realized it might be a waste. Colgate Total has a polymer that sticks to teeth to aid in the prevention of plaque. I wonder if using ACT Restoring mouthwash right after my nightly brush with Total would be pointless being as the minerals from the wash may never actually coat my teeth. I could just switch at night to a more standard toothpaste.

I'd like to know your opinions.

Most dentists do not recommend daily mouthwash.
