How can i get a job?

When i have been unemployed for 2 and a half years ? I have lots of certificates.

Health and safety
Food hygiene
emergency first aid
manual handling
pool lifeguard
Fish filleting
Basic fire prevention
millenium vollunteers
Fork lift truck licence

I have all these certificates im 26 years old yet i cant get a job because i either dont have enough experience or ive been out of work for 2 years.I dont understand ,my friend has a great job as a postman yet he doesnt have any of the stuff i have got.He's been arested for drunk driving twice banned from driving and other criminal offences yet he works for royal mail ? how am i supposed to get a job,do i have to be a bad person or a criminal first dont my qualifications matter?

I would suggest you try for entry level positions and gradually work your way up. Try the hotel and restaurant industry, some of your certificates will come in handy in that area.

your mate will have got that job as a result of being promoted through an agency. ive just applied for a fork lift truck driving job. i told them i have 5 years experience from 10 years ago and 2 months experience prior to last september. they told me that wasn't long enough experience. i could'nt be arsed argueing. successfull employers become accustomed to and rely on what has previously gained them success and are not willing to take chances. you have to start at the bottom and whilst you are in employment you have a better chance of being employed in a better job. ive just been offered a **** job working in a paper making factory opperating a machine im'e thinking of starting their. you need to blag your cv. on your cv write that you have landscape gardening. i.e flagging, fencing and stone walling. this will then tell an employer that you are not idle and that you want to better your circomstances.to get any where in this life you need to glag and get wise.
