How to Prevent Getting a Splinter?

Alright...yes it seems like a easy question to ask but i would like a website or maybe some medical type answers.. i have a school project on the first aid, signs/symptoms, and prevention on splinters and i would just like to know the prevention of splinters

I think your question is way too broad... There are hundreds of different sources of splinters, and prevention may be different for each of them.

In general:
- Wear thick leather gloves when working with splintery stuff
- Wear shoes if you are going to walk in bark dust, wood chips, or even wooden decks.
- Keep wooden objects that are likely to be handled or walked on in good repair, including keeping them sanded smooth.
- When working with wood, be careful when doing anything "with the grain" as opposed to "across the grain". For example, you have to sand with the grain. So when sanding, be especially careful.
