What's the best punishment for the Ipswich Killer?

I have 3 people in the room with 3 differnt positions on this.
One says the death penalty is the only suitable punishment.................................

The second person says (and this is not me saying this),
"in one fell swoop he did his bit for
the prevention of Aids, decreased the funding sent to organized crime
from drugs, took 5 mingers out of our site and saved the public benefit
system 5 flats and 5x the state benefit. Unless I'm missing something, shouldn't we be giving him a medal or something".................................

And I say the death penalty is way too good and is just a easy way out that means he will never suffer much unlike the familys of those he's killed. I say we lock him in a cell for the rest of his life with a 22 stone homo rapist and a life time supply of Viagra.

I do not agree with any of your options. I think the killer should serve the rest of his life (and I mean forever, not just a few years) in prison and that the Government should bring back the "hard labour" penalty so that the killer can earn his keep and not be kept in luxury at the tax payer's expense. Also, the prison service should not be swayed by moralistic arguments about his human rights - what rights did he give to his victims - let him work hard in prison (with no TV, news papers etc.) until he dies.

I think a cell for life with a sexually deprived homo rapist sounds like a fitting punishment.

The most likely thing is that he will be given a life sentence and then be released on parole after serving 6 weeks for good behaviour.

Tie him to a chair, then a rusty metal cage full of starving rats is put over his head. And the rats would eat his face off.

Assuming that the person that they have did it, i would have to say they would probably end up in that mental institute that the yorkshire ripper, ian huntly are at, seeing as all the nations nutters are locked up there.

In answer to the question though, i would say the first one, death penalty.

Death is too good for them, I think they should use them in experiments along with all the other convicted child molesters. This should be done under controlled conditions, instead of using poor innocent animals, why not use them to do some good?

BTW your friend's opinion about giving them a medal is really sick, do they show any signs of psychopathic behaviour, because if they truly feel like that they have no empathy for the victims and that is a sign of a psychopathic personality.

I think at this point first things first, he has killed five people in cold blood and left them naked before putting him in a cell or hanging him or offering any kind of punishment i think they need to examine his mental state and establish why he did this and whether he had any accomplices after that the law steps in.

With people like this murderer, punishing them is rather irrelevant as they are obviously mad anyway.
Dont punish the person, but the rest of society needs to be protected from them, so for our own good alone, I think the perpetrator should be kept away from society for the rest of their natural life in a secure institution.

Id like to say the death penalty, but i think he should suffer more and for a long time. The idea others had of using him for experiments is growing on me! Whoever said the answer of saving the tax payer money etc is just awful. 5 young girls plus one unborn child have been murdered, just because they have a job that some (and certainly not me) find unsavoury, doesnt mean they deserve any less of our sympathy.... in my opinion.

Capital punishment is too quick and too easy. The second person's comments are not worthy of a response, quite frankly. It is a crass and short-sighted point of view. All five of these women (and anyone else who may have been killed or assaulted by this pervert/s) were someone's daughter and, in several of the cases, someone's mother. They were all 'normal' people, like your colleague, and all started taking drugs recreationally and before they knew it, they were in a pit that they couldn't get out of.

I don't think it is helpful for anyone to cast aspersions on anyone else because of the lifestyle choices they make. I dare say there's some things your colleague has done which may offend or repulse others.

The death penalty is too easy. Spending life in prison is suffering and will give them time to reflect on what they have done. Killing somone else is not the answer, people are too quick to suggest it and do not think it through.

Hmm torturing criminals - certainly proves we live in a 'civilized' country, not like those horrible Iranian fellows.

Why not do what the law tells us to do - and put him in prison for life? He still dies at the end of it, it's not like he's accomplished anything with his time in prison.

However, life should MEAN life - as it should with all life sentances. If the judges mean they want them in prison for 10 years, why don't they SAY so?

Pump him full of drugs which cause chronic pain. Then stick him in a cell with a 30 stone raving homo to be repeated violated on a daily basis.
