What level of inconvenience is too high to avoid spreading AIDS to a healthy victim?

1. Quarantine by social services for monitoring and follow-up (as Huckabee had proposed, not Brother Island as for Typhoid Mary! Even in Cuba they require an 8 week course of education to prevent patients from returning to the community to spread the virus).
2. Some identifier for sexual partners to use to check on eachother.

What form of prevention of viral spread is more inconvenient than the pain misery and expense of a person dying miserably of AIDS, the loss of a parent, sibling, friend, etc.?
Should there be quarantine or some measures for SARS, smallpox, resistant TB, or a new polio outbreak?

Only 1 of 4 people with AIDS is diagnosed. If they just knew, they would stop spreading it around.

Just don't have sex with them or get a blood transfusion from them. It's not like the common cold that can be spread just walking around.

I don't think quarantine is necessary or fair. The other diseases you mentioned are all spread via air. HIV/AIDS is not and is only transmitted by exchange of bodily fluids.

It is important for someone diagnosed with HIV to reveal this to their partners. However many people are infected with HIV and are not aware of it. This is why it is important for everyone to take responsibility for themselves and insist upon using condoms. Your partner may have HIV or another disease and not even know about it..

considering the large population out there who dont even know that they have HIV OR AIDS is astounding, and they are spreading it unwittingly... i say any and all people who wish to get a drivers license,social insurance card, visa card (fed) or any othe form of state(provincial) or local or even federal id must submit to an HIV test.. they are now available where you can have results in lest than 10 minutes.. if you refuse you dont get any id..
