What are the limitations if I go to a non-CAAHEP accredited school for Diagnostic Medical Sonography?

One school I'm researching says the following...

ACCREDITATIONS

accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT).

APPROVALS

Approved
Department of Education: Federal Government
Approved by the US Department of Education (DOE) to administer Title IV Federal Financial Aid to those Students who qualify.

Veterans Administration:
Approved to train eligible Veterans of the United States Military.

American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT): Upon completion of the MRI program, graduates are eligible to apply to sit for the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) - www.armrit.org National Certification examination.

SCHOOL IS NOT CAAHEP ACCREDITED. WHAT IF I ATTEND THIS SCHOOL -- WILL IT BE WORTH MY INVESTMENT DESPITE THE ABOVE SITUATION? WHAT ARE THE LIMITATION IN TERMS OF FINDING WORK IF I GO THIS ROUTE?

Most places of employment for sonographers will require you to be Nationally Certified within a year after your graduation. If your school isn't accredited by the National Testing agency, or CAAHEP, then you won't be allowed to take the test. Sometimes you can take the test by "challenging" it, after you completed your school, but overall it's a more recognized path to attend an accredited school. Check with a possible future employer to see what they say. some employers, like the Federal Government will accept the ACCST, if you want to work for the government. Good Luck

I would contact the national organization that certifies sonographers. They may/may not allow a graduate of the school to take the exam.
