Band Aid lyrics, do they make sense?

There won't be snow in Africa this Christmas time..... except on the Atlas mountains or the snow covered peak of Kilimanjaro.

Nothing ever grows, no rain or rivers flow....... there are some very fertile areas, and the longest river in the world too!

Do they know it's Christmas? ..... lots of christians in Africa.

I think Midge Ure and Bob Geldof should have researched the matter more thoroughly.

I agree, there are many fertile affluent places in Africa, but there are also many very poor places as well. Although I think the UN should be harder on these corrupt leaders and help the people to learn how to farm the land themselves, but some people just want to sit back and receive all this aid in stead of making things better for themselves. Shame though!
