I need a student loan but I don't have any credit or cosigner?

I plan on attending a college that is going to cost $11,259 out of my own pocket. The problem is, my school isn't considering me for a lot of aid because they say "my parents make too much money" to qualify for grants but we keep getting denied for private loans because my parents just built a house and have "too much debt to income ratio". Now, before you say "Well just apply for a Stafford loan!"..I already did, but its only for like $2,625. And before you tell me to just find a different co-signer..everyone I know is reluctant to co-sign for me because of what would happen to their credit if I miss a payment. Is there ANY advice anyone could give me, because I spend hours researching loans on the internet that don't require credit checks and it's so frustrating. Please get back to me, thank you!

You need to go to the school and apply with a financial aid advisor. I got a loan with no cosigner, bad credit, no job. My loan covers all that my scholarship and grant will not cover.

You may not be able to afford such an expensive college, given your family finances. It's tough, but a lot of us have had to choose a less expensive university. You might do a couple of years at a less expensive school and put together a plan to transfer to the school where you want your degree for the last 2 years. That would give you some time to perhaps work a job and get some money together. And your parents debts may be more under control then, to allow them to sign for a loan for you.

When your parents filled out your financial Aide form FAFSA did they add in the cost of the loan under special circumstances? There are other loans to be had with the Stafford through private lenders. Watch the interest rates though. Go talk to your colleges financial Aide office they will have some of your answers.

$11K is not a lot of money. Why can you not come up with this? Get a job. Get 2 jobs. Join the reserves. As far as your credit... if your parents have a good fico score have them put you on one of their credit card accounts that they have had for a while. They do not need to give you a card just add your name to their account and you will inherit their credit as it pertains to the particular account(s). The more the merrier. I did that for my brother when he wanted to buy a car. I added his name to all my credit card accounts like sears and home depot and exxon. I didn't give him any cards or let him use the accounts but basically he inherited all the credit from those accounts.
