I need help identifying a coin...? |
I recently inherited several coins from my late grandmother. I have been able to identify and date all but one. I have researched, yet have still not been able to identify it, so I need help! It's an undated liberty quarter. I have never seen one before but I have heard of them. It looks like a California small denomination gold coin. There are originals and a lot were struck later as jewelry pieces. It would have to be looked at by a coin dealer or two and in the end have to go to a grading and authentication service. there are just too many restrikes and fakes out there for anyone to take a chance on your coin. They usually sell if genuine for a round $125 and up maybe more now since gold has gone up. You can send it in to ANACS yourself go to www.anacs.com for a submission form. I would see a couple of coin dealers so they can make sure it maybe real. One of them must have a book on them and they can check the weight. It looks a little too crude from the photos, but that could be due to the photos. its a token i found some on ebay that look just like it |
