MUN GA2 Afghanistan?

I'm representing Afghanistan in GA2 and our topics are

1. Eradication of Poverty
2. Improving Trade Relations between the Global North and South
3. HIPC Initiatives: Improving Development Aid

could anyone give me any tips on Afghanistan's views on these topics...or any good places to start researching?

Well, Afghanistan needs to eradicate poverty, and according to Hamid Karzai, if the US spent as much on Afghanistan in foriegn aid, the nation would be in "heaven".

Trade relations are generally reasonably good, although Afghanistan's public views the anti-drug raids on the opium poppy as counterproductive (it is to Afghanistan's economy, and it does end up with more resentment towards the US).

Right now Afghanistan needs to be fully controlled under 1 government, begin a long steady path towards modernization, and poverty eradication will follow.
