Advice for an engineering student?

I need some advice: I am an engineering student, in a university where I need to take a full load of classes to graduate on time, because there is no financial aid after 8 semesters. I am taking five classes, and I work two jobs to pay for groceries, etc. I do pretty okay on my exams, but it's the homework that really gets me. It is very time intensive and repetitive and I often just don't do it, and it adversely affects my grade. Do you think it would be possible to convince a professor to discount homework and put more emphasis on my exam grades? Or maybe if I offered to do a research project of some sort? I know its the end of the semester, but I kinda need good grades, and the homework gets to me. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Quit the jobs. Get the student loans and grants. Apply an appeal letter to the financial aid office. Focus on your study.
