How in the world can anyone want to vote for Huckabee?

I've been researching him, and I've decided (based off of what I have read) that the man seems like he a bigot in disguise.

He wants to completely outlaw abortion, said the genocides of children in Darfur are not any different than abortion, wants to completely outlaw gay marriage or domestic partnerships, outlaw gay people from adopting children, said that "tolerance toward gays shows a lack of societal standards", said that not having prayer in school adds to the "moral decay of our country", wants to impeach judges who don't allow legislatures to pray, wants the Ten Commandments displayed in schools, said that people with AIDS should be quarantined, said Bush has done an awesome job, and he denies evolution.

Given, from what I read he seems to have some good qualities and I do agree with him on some things (such as raising teacher salaries). But after looking at the things I typed above, I don't know how anyone could really think he would be a good president.

I completely agree with you, it's unimaginably insane. I quickly came to the conclusion though that a lot of people vote based on only one or two issues. "gay marriage / abortion" for eg. His base is made almost entirely of radical evangelical Christians, and luckily for us they're a relative minority. He won't be elected, but yes, I agree. It's scary he's even being mentioned for consideration.

For the same reason 62 million morons voted for W. They like the idea of voting for someone as mentally defective as they are.

Well, it seems that not too many people are. He's great on tv. Very personable fellow. But I don't agree with his politics.

I know I hate Huckabee as well. But what do you expect of a country that voted for G. Bush. Might as well be Bush running a third time. Canada I'm coming!

I do. I don't know if you believe in the Bible, but i do and God made Adam and Eve to be partners...NOT CHUCK AND LARRY!!!! Well i mean I agree with him in all and abortion IS MURDER!! That baby is A human! He is A smart guy and would be a great president.

Putting God back in the country, I think it is great! People don't like him because he has morals and values, that is why our country has gone to crap, because we have taken God out of everything. Good for him. He has my vote!!

Homosexuality is clearly a moral decay of America and anywhere else for that matter. Just ask the Fall of the Roman Empire.

People with AIDS are quarantined. Just not till they're ooozing and hacking their way to death's door. The medical staff have to wear full face gear and protective gear.

If you look at the history of the last 70 years you will see a slow and steady decline in moral standards and behavior. This cannot be denied. I think that we need someone that will give us a way to re-accept the standards that have been taken away by people who are morally weak. Humans can get out of line real fast if there are no rules and standards and enforcement. Huckabee is not perfect but he does have something greater within himself that we are lucky to have as a choice. He most likely won't win but I feel more hopeful that a lot of people have supported him and that there is still hope. There is no doubt in my mind that the Democrat's will add to the slide away from morality.

I was going t vote for Huckabee anyway. With the information you just told us about, I know I chose the right
man to vote for. I am against all the things you listed also.

i can't believe people are supporting him. agreeing with his values is one thing. but thinking that changing the constitution to fit an agenda is acceptable, is ridiculous.

gee i think it has to do with his campain promises and his speeches but i really don't know how that works you can ask a gov offical and see what they tell you but i'm sure it's probably the promises and speeches.

He's not a bigot "in disguise" honey, he's a straight up, in your face BIGOT and he's a threat to our society. He comes off as a personable guy, but he's got some very un-American ideas that I don't want in my White House. No one with a brain or even half an education would vote for him.

For all the reasons you've listed and more, That's why I'm voting for Huckabee. None of the things you've mentioned have anything to do with bigotry, but apparently disagreeing with you means he should be called all sorts of names.

This country has a God-given right to choose to go to hell. I have a right to work against that by supporting Mike Huckabee for President.

Oh, by the way, in this enlightened age, haven't girls figured out yet that saying a firm NO will keep you from having an unwanted pregnancy? It will also gain you some respect from the boys. You will also have a stronger marriage if your husband has the privilege of being your "first".......just a few things to ponder......
