MLA citing?

I'm doing a research paper and I need help with MLA. If i keep citing a particular author do I need to cite the page after every sentence I use? Example:

Does this work or do I just cite when page source in on a diffrent page?

If that is all one quote then no, do (Phillips 16) at the end. Plus remember that if you mentioned the author before you inserted the quote then all you need is the page number in the parenthesis. If you are using the citings to separate the quotes, then just use the elipses. (...)

I thought that I did not have to, and so when I did_ i got marked down for it. Its a pain in the *** but do it anyway- save you the grade. Professors can be *****
