Check my essay( grammer, meaning,...........)?

Since I have been in Liverpool, I have learnt a lot of things either in my academic studies or in my life in general.
The new thing that I earned is how to give academic talk. First, it is difficult for me to give a talk because I have not done a lot in the past, just once. I think that giving a talk is let me scared and feel nervous. But I think the reason for that is I do not practise. So, I had searched in the internet for information about how to give an effective talk and I found that if I want to do so, I should speak loudly and clearly, make eye contact, use visual aids, finish the talk within the time and summarise the talk at the beginning and at the end. At last, I found giving effective talk such that needs more practise.

The other thing that I learned last two weeks is how to paraphrase, quote or summarise.
I found it something new to me because I have not done a lot of research before I came here.however I know it is difficult skill but I think that skill is important for many reasons. First, it let me avoid plagiarism and it means I will be successful student at university. also, it will demonstrate the understanding of the text. Finally, it needs to do hard work to get that skill and I think it deserves

the sentence, "But I think the reason for that is I do not practise"

CAnnot start with "BUT" and "practise" should be "practice"

Isn't "practice" spelled with an "s" in England: "practise" instead of "practice"?

I'm just wondering for those who have edited that part.
