Should government intervene with health issues? |
health issues might include obesity, AIDS/HIV, tobacco use, etc. what would the pros and cons be? i'm doing this for a research paper and i need opinions and help. Government should not intervene except in an advisory capacity. It is your body to so with as you will. Government does not have the right to tell you what you can or cannot do to your body so long as you are not harming another. Giving the government that authority to over ride your personal wishes is setting a terrible precedence which opens the door to many other things. The way we are going we will one day have no right to do anything. Stop and think it through, every time the government is given authority they take more and never relinquish any of it. Do you want to lose more rights? Instead, focus on reducing government intrusion into your life, increase personal responsibility for your actions. Research the countries where the government controls health issues. They have to wait months on general doctor appointments and 6 months to a year for a specialist. The government does so well (not) controlling what they do control, let's not put our health in their hands. |
