Do you know of any diseases/illness/bugs that aid in weight loss.I am writing a satirical article. PLEASE HELP

I am writing a satirical article for my blog and I have been researching illness/diseases/bugs that cause weight loss. They can't be like AIDS or cancer because those are so serious. I need these to be something that is ridiculous to want just to lose weight but that you can easily see someone wanting to have if they are obsessed. One example is tapeworms. They are disgusting and I couldn't imagine having them, but I know some people who want to lose weight will say "man, i wish I had a tapeworm" So, if you can give me some leads that would be great.

Almost any digestive illness will cause weight loss. Things like Irritable Bowel, colitis or even Montezuma's Revenge. The last is so-called because it often strikes travelers who are drinking water in a country where the water isn't clean. It used to refer to travelers visiting Mexico, but it can mean anywhere that a tourist picks up a bug that causes diarrhea. Eating disorders also cause weight loss, like anorexia or bulimia. Good luck with your paper. I'm glad it's satirical, none of these conditions are pleasant.

I don't know if this helps, but tuberculosis makes you lose weight...

Guardia. Its a water born parasite that causes the worlds worse case of diarrhea and stinky poo ever. You get afraid to pass gas for fear you will mess yourself. Causes weight loss. By the time I got diagnosed I had lost almost 20#.

I have heard about a lot of people eating food that is way past the sell by date so they get food poisoning. I think it does make you lose a fair bit of weight but of course its quite dangerous too.

tapeworm

I was also gonna say tapeworms, but another thing would be smoking. I don't know if that really fits the category of illness/bugs, but it suppresses the appetite. When I have a cold or the flu, I barely have an appetite either, so those things can help lose weight. Imagine someone trying to catch the flu or a cold every flu season to lose weight. Howabout a hangover? Its hard to eat when you wake up and have a hangover, but a lot of alcoholic drinks have a lot of calories, so this approach to losing weight is going to really be hard. tape worm. My cat had it once and lost alot of weight. And the vet told us that he heard of people eating things that had tape worms, so that they could loose weight too.. GROSS!
