What are my odds at getting into a PhD program? |
I'm not trying to get into Harvard/MIT/Chicago. I'll be getting a masters in economics in may and I want to get the phd because I love research. My grades are mediocre (gpa is 3.1) and my last gre was mediocre, too (but I can do a bit better if I actually study this time). I'm fine with a mediocre school, but I hear horror stories of students before me who were academically much stronger than I was and still got rejected across the board. I just want to get into a school and land financial aid so I can study and do research in my field. What have you published? What else have you done to prove that you can do research? If the answer to both questions is nothing, the same answer can be applied to your question. But keep trying. Eventually you will find a school that fits your needs. |
