I need a good laptop that has everything I need.?

I am a college student and I just recently decided to buy a laptop to aid in my studies. I researched the laptops and was overwhelmed. I wanted to know what was a good laptop, that has everything I need (wireless internet, lots of memory, usb ports, cd/dvd burner, etc) that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg.

Get a Toshiba laptop... I recently got the A-105 version, and it's about $900. What budget do you have for it? And what features would you want?

get a dell 1505.. you should be able to get all you need for 800.. check and see if you get a discount from your school

Anything with 1gb of memory, an 80gb hard drive and a dvd burner should do everything (I work on a computer with less). HP, Dell and SOny have really good laptops.

I recommend the one I have.
I have a Toshiba Satellite.
It has all of the things you are looking for. Portable and I love it! I have had it for a year now and I have not had any problems with it. Plus the battery life is amazing.
I bought it from Best Buy so I got a pretty good rebate deal on it...1,200 with discounts/rebates
I recommend it.

well if you want a good laptop with all that stuff it probably will be pricey. I have lots of experience with sony vaio. they are a bit expensive but any good laptop will be. Mine has all that stuff you need and ive had it for like 2 yrs and it has lasted great and works super well. try going to like best buy and looking at the laptops they have on and see which u like best. good luck

For what your doing you won't need a laptop that costs more than 500-600$. You will not need a gig of memory as other people are suggesting to browse the internet, do a word document, listen to music, edit photos.

Not sure what retailer you have around you but Circuit City has some decent prices on back to school laptops.

I would recommend 512 mb Ram doesn't matter to much between ddr2 and ddr. 80 gb harddrive or more. Processor really don't worry to much about whichever comes in the laptop will be plenty enough for just browsing the internet and such.

The Compaq V5100 series is very good, and my work we've sold a lot to uni students. The V5101 has an AMD processor, 512mb ram, 80Gb hdd, dvdrw, digital card reader, wireless networking, usb, firewire... they are good allround laptops.

I suggest you get a IBM T60 It is a pretty good machine it has:

1- verizon wireless (30 day free trial)
2- bluetooth
3- 1 gb of ram
4- 80 gb hd
5- DVD Burner
6- 3 USB ports
7- wireless

and all for 1600$-3800$ (it depens on the features which you choose)(these above are for 2200$)
(example: if you want you can get 100 gb hd)
