What is the basic first aid for electric shock? Science h/w?

you can get it from any site information for these question thank you. and it is my Science h/w

1)what is the basic first aid for electric shock?

2)what is the basic first aid for eye damage (chemical or foreign body)?

3)when it might be dangerous to give first aid?

4)why is it useful to have a firt aid qualification, what local organisations provide training and how to contact them?

5)detailed bibliography of the research carried out into first aid in a scientific place.

1. Turn off the power or move the person away from the source of the electric using something none conductive like a piece of wood....then check for pulse and breathing.

2. Use lots of water to wash the eye to dilute any chemical check for foreign body....remove carefully, if unable to remove use material such as cotton wool to bandage to eye and remove casualty to hospital...do not prod about.....

3\ When you could put yourself in danger, such as on a busy road without protecting the scene, or railway line etc.

4/ It is useful because you never know when it may be necessary to give first aid and some knowledge is better than none at all, you may be in a remote area where you are the only one able to help....you can contact the St Johns Ambulance service for training.

5 No idea

1. stop the electric fire with water

2. wipe the eye clean with a cloth

3. If the patient is giving off sparks

4. looks good on your CV

5. Check wiki

1- remove the "hazard" - use non conductive item to isolate the body from the electricity source. Then check respiration, airway, breathing and circulation in that order.

2- flush the eye with sterile water if available for at least 10 minutes - make sure the eye is kept open and the water runs from the outside of the eye and down and off the nose.

3- when the hazard has not been removed.

4- first aid can save lives if you do it properly and can, in some instances, kill someone if you do it incorrectly.

5- ? search Wikipedia for that one

search the internet

1) Only approach if safe to do so i.e. electricity is turned off check if still breathing and has pulse if not start CPR and when stabilised place in recovery position.
2) Wash with sterile water by tilting head to one side and pouring water over eyeball for at least 10 mins. Then cover with lint free gauze and seek further medical advice. In cases of chemicals take sample/container and any COSHH information with patient.
3) When your own safety is in jepordy e.g. if electricity is still live and in contact with patient. Remember one patient is enough your safety must come first.
4) So you know what to do in an emergency, St. Johns Ambulance is best organisation and can be found in phone book.

may i ask why you're asking others to answer your homework for you? just search the internet or books yourself, dont be so lazy.
