i know NASA is around $16 Billion, but what's around the top 5 or 6?
How much is HIV/AIDS awareness, cancer research, etc?

The biggest expenditure is for the Dept of Health and human services with expenditures of approx 650 billion dollars. Next is the Dept of Defense with 550 billion dollars. Third is the Treasury Dept with expenditures of approximately 450 billion dollars. This includes paying interest on the national debt. Check out the link below for a bar chart showing expenditures of various departments for the last few years.
Just for the record, Social Security is not considered to be part of the budget per se.
