Did you guys know that Bill Gates donates 75% of his income every year to charity? |
I read something somewhere that Bill Gates give 75% of his income to charity. The last I heard he earns around $250 per second, it's not like he's going without to donate that money. It is a very noble and beautiful thing for him to do, don't get me wrong, but come on the man is frankly stinking rich, what else is he going to do with it? He might as well put it to good use and better other people's lives. I bet he still earns so much from the 25% he keeps that he still has more than he knows what to do with. its a shame there isnt more of him That is wonderful! I agree with you if all the rich people in the world donated like that we would have a lot more cancer research being done and other good things. Too much of it goes to liberal causes. AIDS research is one, when we already have a cure, which is sex within marriage with your wife or husband. Let's face it, his income is in the billions probably yearly. How much money can you spend? You can only buy so many houses, so many cars, so much stuff. I think it is wonderful that he donates so much, but he still has plenty to live well on. It's not like he makes $100,000 and is donating $75,000 and scraping by on $25,000. It is admirable that he and Warren Buffet do donate so much, but again, they have it to give. That is incorrect. It is 75% of his salary from Microsoft that he donates. Although it's a hefty sum, he still has many other incomes. I do give him and his beautiful wife credit for their generosity. He gets picked on a lot wether deserving or not, it often overshadows the good he does. I know because he has been good to New Orleans and the area around it. yeah, I was just talking to my dad about him last night. My dad is the president of the school board for a catholic school and they just got denied a grant from him. Bill Gates is more the generous. He is a good man, but it also gives him a tax break. It is the same reason NBA players donate so much to charity. If they don't then they get hit real bad by taxes, and bill being the wealthiest man would be hit 10 times worse, donating so much money gives him a major tax break, though he still pays more taxes then most people make in a years salary. Wow! I didn't know that. That's pretty cool. >>Did you guys know that Bill Gates donates 75% of his income every year to charity?<< I wish there were more like him, but we have all been socialised into greed for ourselves and our immidiate family. Hey AWESOME!!!! i never knew that! I just gained a whole lot of respect for him. |
