Like Darfur, Drug Trafficking, global warming, natural resources, aids, terrorism, genocide, a specific conflict? something I can focus on for years to come

gap between have and have not's. why does it exist? why will it continue to exist? you could also use that in similarities/differences in various societies. i would like to read it!

Immigration.

This is not something exlusive to the U.S.. Currently there are over 200 million migrants worldwide. According to the renown Sammuel Huntington, immigration will be the defining issue of the 21st Century.

Violence - look back and see how violence has become more and more rampant as time goes by. Why? Are we losing our humanity? Have we become so desensitized and if so why? Your neighbor is more likely to shoot you than help you if you watch the news on a daily basis. You cannot trust a stranger to help with a flat tire - you need a cell phone at all times. Attending college is like running a gauntlett - will today be the day someone snaps and pulls a gun during lecture? Spouses plot each others death - there is always a case at courtv.com - men kill their pregnant wives/girlfriends - every month there is new case. Kids are wiping out there entire families on a regular basis. New case this week. Babies are being born and left to die - new case almost weekly.
I don't remember news like this when I was a kid.
Just a thought.
