What should i improve in my "abortion research intro" im trying to get both sides to listen. . . .?

People have different opinions about abortion and many opinions are rooted in people鈥檚 emotions rather in rational thinking. It鈥檚 an issue that evokes, on all sides, very strong feelings, judgments, and recriminations.
Our American society is fundamentally set up so that deadbeat fathers wander off almost scot free and abandon their family. Some don't feel connected to their children at all. They鈥檙e not raising them, so they don鈥榯 feel the need to support them. They鈥檙e not there to feel the dread of being unable to pay the doctor or the shame of knowing that the kids are on Medicaid because their sperm donor is an uncaring jerk. Many grow up without much of a father, or none at all. America, as a society, does almost nothing about this.
So what is this woman to do? abortion is exceedingly emotionally painful. Giving up a child to adoption is tearingly hard on a woman's feelings all her life. And raising a child without a father is severely harsh on the child, not to mention an almost certain trip down poverty row for the mother. marrying a man who isn't really interested is a recipe for a marriage disaster. Among so many poor choices, is there any choice that allows a woman to feel good about herself and her decision? No. There is no such choice.
The after effects of abortion are enormous. Counseling for those that grieve the loss of the child has become a significant business. Churches are also offering support groups to help women who have undergone abortions to recover mentally. The weight of guilt is the main reason that they struggle and helping them is very important. Some churches are even having memorial services for the babies. This helps women to move on with their lives and forgive themselves. The complexity of emotion makes it a more difficult issue to determine whether or not to make it illegal. It's also a very religious matter. Religious ethics have influenced people on their personal opinion and has made a greater debate over abortion. Because this is such an emotional issue for so many people, many people argue that abortion is morally wrong on the basis that a fetus is an innocent human being.
------ how do i stick this in there--->鈥?More pregnancies are terminated in one year than all of AIDS cases combined in the past twenty years. According to 'The Center for Bio-Ethical Reform', approximately 3,700 abortions occur per day and 42 million of induced abortions occurred in 2003 worldwide.鈥?i put it in the beginning at first, but its kind of a boring sentence to start with. i need something exciting.

So many situations, but you forgot to mention a few. Should no one ever have children because the potential for car accidents, terminal diseases, divorces, mental instability, and many more "worse case scenarios" could be lurking? All of the situations you mentioned could happen to anyone, with or without child. Life is life, and sometimes things happen that we don't want. Do we kill our children because they mess up our favorite television, get bubble gum on the car seat, or spill the milk? I hope everyone agrees the answer is NO. Why kill an unborn baby because you were (most likely) irresponsible enough to get pregnant when you were unprepared, unwilling to have a child or unable to provide for it? Seems a bit unfair to me.

Women should really take control of their bodies and educate themselves, protect themselves and respect themselves!

The abortion issue boils down to the rights of the unborn vs the rights of the woman.

Does the right to be born trump the right to choose whether to endure 6-9 months of discomfort, illness and disfigurement?

It took me a while to see this other side of the issue.

I'd always sided with the unborn. Of the two, the mother is the more mature, and should be the more "grown up" of the two. Part of being an adult is sacrificing for others. But then sometimes, women (girls?) have no choice in the act that results in pregnancy- rape, incest, etc.

So where is the line?

My personal feelings are that if a woman has consensual sex, and that sex results in conception, tough nuts- she already had her choice. If a conception is the result of actions outside her control then forcing her to endure a pregnancy simply adds insult to injury, and should not be required.

A thought----
When the future care of a child is in question, adoption should not be eliminated as an option..... I feel it's a wonderful choice- it benefits all involved. The birth mother doesn't feel guilty for terminating an innocent. The child is raised with the opportunities and care needed. The adoptive parents/family has the chance to share their love with one more.

But then, I'm a tad biased- I can't have children, so through the charity of others- adoption or surrogacy- is the only way I can become a mother.

I think of the issue this way one the baby had no choich of being made. so why should the baby suffer. Aso if you don't want babies then don't have sex or make perventave measures.
