No, an STD is a `sexually transmitted disease`. This could be Herpes, HIV, Chlymidia etc. AIDS is just a specific (but more serious) type of and STD. AIDS develops from HIV, so I think HIV is the actual STD and AIDS is the end result effects.

Aids also an sexually Transmitted disease. Other Stds won't develope into Aids. It is a virus infection.
