How can i make both sides listen (abortion research paper)heres my intro. . .?

what should i add to it?:
More babies are killed in one year from abortions than all of AIDS cases combined in the past twenty years. According to 'The Center for Bio-Ethical Reform', approximately 3,700 abortions occur per day and 42 million of induced abortions occurred in 2003 worldwide. People have different opinions about abortion and many opinions are rooted in people鈥檚 emotions rather in rational thinking. It鈥檚 an issue that evokes, on all sides, very strong feelings, judgments, and recriminations. The after effects of abortion are enormous. Counseling for those that grieve the loss of the child has become a significant business. Churches are also offering support groups to help women who have undergone abortions to recover mentally. The weight of guilt is the main reason that they struggle and helping them is very important. Some churches are even having memorial services for the babies. This helps women to move on with their lives and forgive themselves. The complexity of emotion makes it a more difficult issue to determine whether or not to make it illegal. It's also a very religious matter. Religious ethics has influenced people on their personal opinion and has made a greater debate over abortion. Because this is such an emotional issue for so many people, many people argue that abortion is morally wrong on the basis that a fetus is an innocent human being.

The overwhelming majority of all abortions, (95%), are done as a means of"" birth control?""

Only 1% are performed because of rape or incest;

1% because of fetal abnormalities;

3% due to the mother's health problems

Let's put aside our differences on choice and focus on what we do agree on. We all agree that the "need" for abortions needs to be reduced.

Birth control is a bad reason--and that is the reason for most.
We are all against abortions. The question is are you willing to spend money to stop the root causes of unwanted pregnancies? Are you willing to set some moral standards? ( hate that don't you.--yes I know--forgive me for saying it out to you) We spade and neuter our pets but don't want to discuss it when it comes to us. You can't be against abortions and not against stopping the causes of abortions. It's a package deal.

We have more availability of information now everywhere. ""More education""--guess what?-- that hasn't reduce the numbers world wide. Because people haven't taken into their hearts--causes and affects and responsibility and accountability--VALUES

My feeling.

If one decides not to have children, then one should take permanent preventative action. Whats happened to adoption .. rather give the child away! Its inconvenient though and people have become exceeding selfish! If young girls, whom I am sure have received the appropriate sex education, decide to play around, they HAVE to accept the responsibilities for their actions! Simple. Nothing comes free in this life, and if they are old enough to sleep around

I have no problem with abortions for rape, incest, medical but I do have a problem with the ""high numbers"" who use it for birth control.

"""""I would add when does life begin?""''' Because a fetus can cry and scream at 8-12 weeks. As show on a documentary on BBS. Can you imagine all the noise if we hooked up those machines to ever aborted baby every day. It would be horrible. Beyond most imagination.

And there is someone on 360 here who was born at 7 months just before the decision was made to abort him -lucky wasn't he? I wonder how many will tell him he didn't mater-he wasn't human if it was one day later and he was aborted. And what day does makes the difference??-as of now you can abort in your 9 month even. Why is it a life one day at birth and not the day before?

Your statements are very good--all sides should be looked at.

Add that many woman have an abortion just as a matter of convenience even though there are years long waiting lists to adopt children....

The Constitution prevents cult-freaks from making medical choices for the rest of us.

Well, first, "babies" aren't "killed", pregnancies are terminated. If you want the pro choice persons to listen you can't start your argument in such an inflammatory way. They already feel that there is a right to choose.

Also, make sure your grammar is correct, phrases like "Religious ethics has. . ." need correction, it should be ". . .ethics have. . ."

If you are trying to get the pro life group to listen you might include a little information about the harm that was done to women before abortion was legal by botched attempts to end pregnancies with home remedies, or illegal procedures in unsanitary conditions by untrained providers. Many women lost their life to the attempt to end a pregnancy they were unprepared to carry to term.

u need to add an opening statement that catches the readers attention, u went straight into facts. your topic sentence is not clear, not to be mean but it doesnt really sound like an introduction

Some western European nations have abortion rates that are a fraction of the rate in the United States. That鈥檚 partially because their teenage pregnancy rates are much lower. The answer is to address the root cause of the problem through better sex education and better access to contraception. Criminalizing abortion is the wrong approach.

what a difficult subject to write about!! I will let you in on one little secret....The law does not recognize a fetus in utero as a live being...only when it is out of the womb. The only exception is homicide. I learned this by pursuing the government for help when my daughter suffered moderate to severe brain damage in utero during a life threatening car accident. I am probably not the person to answer this type of question because it seems as if all these "pro-life--'rs" (including Bush) don't get it. No one told me anything was wrong with my baby I had to figure it out myself and ever since I have had difficulty getting help for her. The individual that caused this accident didn't even get a ticket and no compensation for her injuries...this is the American laws in action. It is funny how people can take the stance of pro-life but once a life comes into this world that is "different" or has "special needs" everyone turns the other cheek!! These poor kiddos seem to be disposable in our wonderful country. I am a registered nurse and now find myself unable to work due to lack of care for her. I am a single parent of 5 I have always been able to provide for my family by myself until this occurred and everywhere I go to get help I get the runaround "sorry you don't qualify" It's no wonder why we have so much crime in this world.. God help me for saying this but sometimes abortion might be the best thing for the unborn considering the lives they may be entering. Some pregnancies are unwanted (yes they should be using birth control) but we all know people are out there having sex Why would we encourage mothers to have these children And what if the kiddos suffer some type of abnormality? Most people in America would not want these type of kids...I have many stories about this subject. the whole situation sickens me. They always advertise adoption like it is some glamorous wonderful heart felt thing going on...but what they don't talk about is these families that use these kids as a paycheck.....don't ever hear much about this but it is happening!!!! I can go on and on ......
