I am graduating with biomedical sciences. I would like to get into medical research and do research on disease

like cancer, AIDS specifically. My question is how do i get there? Also how is the job market and under what name would i look for would i be a medical researcher? Lots of questions any and all information would be appreciated. Also is that a hard career? does it involve long hours ( i have a family) and is grad school for this difficult to get into and succeed? HELP :)
